At Ready for Tennis, our Junior Pathway supports players from their very first rally through to confident full-court play.
The pathway progresses through three key stages - Mini Minors (5-8 yrs), Juniors (9-12 yrs), and Teen Tennis (13-18 yrs) - following Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots junior development pathway to ensure every child grows their skills, confidence and love for the game at the right pace. From Red and Orange Ball foundations to Green and Yellow Ball development, each stage blends play-based learning, technical fundamentals and positive social connection.
Session times below are for Term 1, 2026:Â 27th January to 3rd April (8-week term).
Red Ball
(Mini Minors 5–7 yrs)
Perfect for young beginners, Red Ball uses smaller courts, softer balls and fun rally-based games to build coordination, balance and confidence.

Book a Trial Lesson: Find the Right Fit
Before jumping into a full program, we offer an easy way to get started - a one on one Trial Lesson for kids or adults.
During your trial, our coaches will assess your current ability, introduce you to the right program, and help plan the next steps for your tennis journey.
"I highly recommend Reid's tennis lessons! My child has learned so much under his guidance and instruction. Reid has a wonderful way of making the lessons fun and engaging while also teaching important skills and techniques. My child has gained confidence on the court and looks forward to every lesson. Thank you, Reid!"

“Attending Ready for Tennis weekly red ball groups has transformed my 7yo’s tennis skills and overall confidence on the court.
Playing regularly with kids his own age has developed his understanding of tennis consolidating skills he's learnt in his weekly lessons, such as ball control and rallying, into context for him."
